Laura’s Cow
May 3, 2013 @ 7:30 pm - May 5, 2013 @ 7:30 pm
$15 – $35Commissioned and produced by the Canadian Children’s Opera Company (CCOC), Laura’s Cow is a musical extravaganza about the War of 1812’s most famous story. After overhearing billeted American officers discussing a surprise attack, the wife of a wounded Canadian militiaman undertakes a grueling trek through enemy-occupied territory to warn the British garrison at Beaver Dams, disguising her journey’s true intent by traveling with her cow. Celebrate the 200th anniversary of her journey with this fanciful retelling suitable for the whole family. Guest artists include baritone Andrew Love, mezzo-soprano Marta Herman and a chamber orchestra. Music by Errol Gay with words by Michael Patrick Albano.
